From detecting ripeness and bruising in fruit to classifying plastics in recycling and verifying pill formulations, HSI systems provide powerful spectral insight at production-line speeds.
This webinar introduces key principles of inline hyperspectral imaging and focuses on the often-overlooked design and integration of illumination. Attendees will learn how to optimize system throughput, sensitivity, and spectral accuracy by properly matching illumination performance to the capabilities of their spectral imaging cameras. We will compare traditional broadband sources, such as tungsten-halogen lamps, with modern solid-state LED systems — evaluating factors such as spectral coverage, uniformity, angular distribution, thermal stability, and cooling techniques.

About the presenters:
Dr. Thomas Brukilacchio, President and Co-founder of Innovations in Optics Inc. (IOI), has been IOI’s visionary, lighting the way forward for high-technology solid-state illuminators and systems. Felsheim is based in Germany and works directly with the leadership of Headwall Group companies Headwall Photonics, EVK DI Kerschhaggl Gmbh, inno-spec GmbH, and perClass BV. He holds a diploma in Neurobiology and Computer Science from the University of Tubingen and a Business Administration and Management certificate from ILM.
