Vision Spectra Conference Presentation – Capturing the Full Spectrum with Simultaneous Multi-Camera Acquisition

Vision Spectra Conference 2024

George Killian, Headwall Application ScientistPresented by George Killian, Headwall Photonics

Presentation will begin: Thursday, July 18, 2024 – 1:55 PM US EDT

The most accurate and consistent grading, sorting, and detection with hyperspectral imaging depends on selecting the most effective range of wavelengths of light. Determining the optimal wavelength range is a large part of performing feasibility studies. Scanning samples in the VNIR and again in the NIR or SWIR can be tedious. A far more efficient method can be used with hyperspectral imaging sensors placed together on the scanning stage, synchronized in software, and triggered with a simple interface.

About the Presenter

George Killian, an applications scientist at Headwall, has an extensive science education and chemical analytics background. He received his bachelor’s in chemistry from Providence College and has worked on various research teams utilizing spectroscopic analysis. As an integral part of the applications team in Bolton, MA, he explores the growing potential of hyperspectral imaging to address important real-world needs with practical solutions largely in but not limited to industrial machine vision.
